My journey to clean up the clutter and keep a tidy house while raising three boys.
Good job on the "to do" list. I don't balance a paper checkbook, although write down the few checks I write. My husband taught me this before he let me take over finances. I like the excel spreadsheet to budget with and then balance by comparing the excel sheet with the on line banking account. Income is spread over the various accounts and then subtracted when it shows up on line. This way, for example, I know how much money is left in the food and miscellaneous accounts--the two accounts I have to watch the most. Also, I know that I keep saving each month money for big bills that will come in such as semi-annual car insurance.
